Castle San Salvatore: Wine & Food Tasting
The castle of San Salvatore was built by the counts Collalto in the second half of the 13th century. Over the centuries, the castle is transformed from medieval fortress to stately home in the Renaissance. In 1700, Count Odoardo, aspiring to the office of doge, added a splendid palace in Venetian style to the castle. The castle overlooks the town of Treviso and the Veneto plain all the way to the lagoon.
Borgoluce is the brand of the Collalto family who manages the land surrounding the castle of San Salvatore. The unique peculiarity of the place is determined by the agrarian landscape, which remains unchanged as in centuries past. Its farm and vineyards produce high quality products - beef, dairy products, sausages, the celebrated “Sopressa Trevigiana” sausage, honey, baked goods, nuts, cherries, etc. - and wines, among which the Prosecco is a stand-out.
The tasting of the products of the farm includes: the famous sausage and meat products “Sopressa Trevigiana”, salami, “Pancetta” bacon, Costella/Ossocollo, as well as buffalo mozzarella, Crescenza and Caciotta cheeses, Prosecco, red wine, bread, water, coffee.
