From Darkness to Light. Concert in the Capuchin Crypt
The theme of the supremacy of the soul over the body is the central inspiration of the concert, which will take you on a musical and artistic itinerary inside one of the most surprising locations in Rome – the Crypt of the Capuchins' church and museum.
Decorated with the bones of 4000 friars who died in the last centuries, the Crypt inside the Capuchin museum and church Santa Maria della Concezione may look terrifying to some, but in reality carries a message of hope and peace.
The rare musical program alternates the archaic mysticism of the Gregorian Chant, the most ancient form of Occidental music, with the best of the Roman polyphony, which culminated in papal Rome. The composers of the musical program are the Sistine Chapel Masters from Renaissance to Baroque.
Immerse yourself into the heart of sacred Rome thanks to the extraordinary performance of the masterful and internationally famed Schola Romana Ensemble.
